My 5 Top MAC Favorite Summer 2014 Lipsticks

Hello dear readers! Today's post is my top 5 favourite lipsticks from MAC Cosmetics. If you know me, you know of my unspoken, dying love for lipsticks. And when it comes to lipsticks, MAC definitely takes the cake. From their highly pigmented formula to their pleasant vanilla scent, MAC lipsticks never fail to disappoint me.

Summer is a great time to shed away your shy self and embrace your boldness. Is your go-to colour mainly nudes and neutral pinks or deep plum and dark reds during the past colder months? Well get ready to think outside the box and try something new! Below I have swatches of my top 5 MAC lipsticks that are perfect for this summer.

From left to right: Sail la Vie, Show Orchid, Sounds like Noise, Impassioned, Candy Yum Yum.

1. Bright orangey-red. >> SAIL LA VIE

Unfortunately, this exact lipstick colour is from a collection (Hey, Sailor) in the summer of 2012. But this fun, bold orangey-red colour gives a little something extra when you want to reach out for your go-to red lipstick. Why not try an orangey-red this summer? You'll feel bold and confident. Watch yourself transform into this fun person all summer long!

Try these other MAC shades that are similar to Sail la Vie: NEON ORANGE or MORANGE.

2. Fuchsia. >> SHOW ORCHID

You can never go wrong with fuchsia-pink. With its iridescent fuchsia-purple sheen, Show Orchid is a gorgeous and fun colour for those of you who are like me, partial to purple lipsticks. This colour works well with every skin tone. Head over to your local MAC counter and give it a try!

3. Yellow-orange. >> SOUNDS LIKE NOISE

This bright, warm-toned orange is perfect if you're looking for a true yellow-orange lipstick. I've always find the majority of orange lipsticks are mostly red-based orange (like Sail la Vie). It is difficult for me to find a true orange colour. Once again, I'll have to apologize because this exact shade was from a MAC x Hayley Williams collaboration so it might be limited edition just like Sail la Vie. But fret not, you can try MAC's TANGERINE DREAM or SAIGON SUMMER which are very similar to Sounds like Noise:)

4. Coral. >> IMPASSIONED

If summer doesn't scream coral then I don't know what does. This MAC top-seller is famous for a reason. This bright warm-pinky coral shade is beautiful. Another universally flattering colour, everyone should own this shade in their collection.

5. Hot pink. >> CANDY YUM YUM

Everyone's favourite hot pink lipstick. It was limited edition but now it's back for good. If you don't have it, you gotta go and buy it! It is super bright and super fun. Why not step out of your comfort zone and rock this bright pink around town for a night or two? You'll be hooked and before you know it, Candy Yum Yum will be your staple, to-go lipstick this summer ;)

So here are my top 5 MAC lipsticks that I think are perfect to give it a try this summer. Look out for my next post. I hope you enjoy my recommendations :) Feel free to leave me feedbacks or what you'd like to see next on my blog. Thank you so much for reading!

Little Blue Boxes

Some of the best things in life comes in little blue boxes ;)

This past February was my boyfriend and mine 4th year anniversary. He got me my first Tiffany diamond :) I was gifted with the Elsa Peretti Diamonds by the Yard pendant in sterling silver, 0.05 carat on a 16" chain. I am obsessed with it. My first diamond from my boyfriend! I love how classic it is and that I can wear it with anything and everything. I can layer it with other necklaces because it's so tiny and perfect! I'm in love <3

Hope you enjoy this little gem I thought I'd share to celebrate the end of June!
Stay tuned for my next post :)

NYX Butter Gloss

As promised, here are the NYX Cosmetics Butter Gloss post I promised. These retail for roughly $5 each. Very affordable, very pigmented, very buttery, very soft, very smooth and did I mention that they smell absolutely amazing? Bonus: they are not sticky whatsoever.

If you've read my old posts, you'll know I've mentioned these before. I already own a few. But since, NYX has come out with new shades and I've been putting off getting it because they're extremely difficult to find in my area but I finally found them and of course, I had to get them!

If you guys want to see swatches for them, let me know. I'm more than happy to do so :) But until then, I highly recommend these NYX Butter Gloss. They're pretty much my top favourite lip glosses - and that's saying a lot as I'm not a huge lip gloss girl (I prefer lipsticks!). But if I have to only pick 1 lip gloss, these will be it. They're super cheap but their quality succeeds beyond all my other high-end and expensive lip glosses. Go to your local drugstore and give these a try. You won't be disappointed I guarantee :)

till' next time lovies,

May Haul: Sephora, Victoria's Secret, Drugstore

Happy May, guys! Where did the time go? Today, I have for you yet a new haul (surprise, surprise). Of course I went to Sephora (once a month trip is a must) and this time I also stopped by Victoria's Secret and luckily, all their makeup items are 30% off, so I decided to pick up something that I've been wanting to try. I made a quick trip to a drugstore and pick up a few goodies as well. So here you are, hope you enjoy :)

My first stop is at Sephora because I have heard sooooooo manyyyyy good things about Bumble and Bumble Prêt-à-Powder and I had to try it out for myself. It is an all-in-one dry shampoo, style extender, and volumnizer. Having super long and thick and heavy hair, other volumizer doesn't really work well with me. It's super difficult for me to tease my hair and have that volume stay at its place despite strong hold hair sprays, so I have high hopes for this product as it is in a powder form. For some reason I think powder volumizer/dry shampoo will work better than liquid form (in sprays, etc.) so we'll see how this goes. I'll let you know what I think!

Next, I have been dyingggg to try the Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick. I am obsessed with purple lipstick (hello, Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Shameless - my go-to, favourite purple), so I picked up the shade Melted Violet. It is such a beautiful colour, and I wanted to pick up Melted Coral, which is a gorgeous coral colour, but I figure I'd wait for summer so I just have the Melted Violet for now.

If you've read my previous post, you'd already know that Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in White Russian is on the top of my wish list. This time finally, I decided to get it. It is that perfect go-to everyday nude pink lipgloss that can be worn over any shades of nude lipsticks. I love the colour, I love the scent (which is that typical dough-y, lip plumping gloss scent, if you know what I mean. It's quite similar to MAC's plush glasses). I understand why this product is so popular in the beauty world. It is a no-brainer shade and easy to throw in your everyday makeup bag.

Here's a (tiny bit blurry - sorry!) swatch picture for Buxom's White Russian and Too Faced's Melted Violet.

As I've mentioned, at Victoria's Secret, they had 30% off all makeup items. I picked up VS PRO Magic FX Radiant Flash Brightening Cream. It is very similar to Benefit High Beam, which I do not own. But I'm excited to try it out as a highlighter.

At the drugstore I picked up 2 EOS lip balms in Honeysuckle Honeydew (green) and Blueberry Acai (blue). I ran out of my Strawberry Sorbet (pink) and Sweet Mint (mint) ones at home so I picked up these 2 as I've never tried these flavours before (plus, my boyfriend loves them so I'll be giving him one).

And thanks to Nicole Guerriero, I picked up the new L'oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in Everbloom she wore in her recent video. It is a gorgeous coral shade, perfect for spring (even though it's not quite spring yet where I live. I'm still wearing my winter jackets). I also picked up a NYX lipgloss in Sorbet. Again, another pink nude (hahaha I have a problem... but you can never have too many pinky nudes in my opinion ;))

I also picked up some NYX Butter Glosses but that will be in the next post so keep a look out for that ;) until next time,

April Sephora Haul

Hello lovely readers! Thank you for stopping by :) Today I have a post on this month's Sephora haul. If you don't know, 2 weeks ago I turned 22 on April 6th :) Of course, if you are a Beauty Insider or a Very Important Beauty Insider/VIB Rouge... Sephora gives you a birthday present! I received this little box from Make Up For Ever that has their famous Smoky Extravagant Mascara and a Rouge Artist Natural lipstick. Along with that, I also decided to spend my BI points on Buxom Full-On Lip Polish in the colour "Sophia". I have always been curious to try Buxom's lip glosses (especially Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in "White Russian" - I'm eyeing you. I want to get you soon!)

So far, I'm loving the lip polish. It's a beautiful, everyday pink lip gloss. I have yet to try the lipstick and mascara from MUFE but if anyone is interested in a review, let me know!

As a birthday treat (pun intended ;)) to me from me, after hearing SO many sweet (see what I did there? haha okay, I'll stop) reviews, I decided to buy the Too Faced The Chocolate Bar Eye Palette.

I've been contemplating getting this palette because I've owned so many other eye shadow palettes already (including 3 palettes from Too Faced itself), and I was afraid I'd have similar shades andddd I didn't really NEED another eye shadow palette. However, after careful consideration and having been visiting the Sephora store and checking the palette out 5.different.times ... I decided that I must have really wanted it so as you can guess, I bit the bullet and bought it on the 6th visit to Sephora (LOL). Although some of the colors on this palette are quite close to some eye shadows in other palette, there are many beautiful colors that I've never owned (like Candied Violet, Strawberry Bon Bon, .. the pinks and the purples. Can't say the same for the browns, champagne, and gold though! lol). I loveee how versatile this palette it. I can create any look I want: a smokey eye for a dramatic night (or day) look, soft and sweet for a natural look, the basic "no makeup" makeup look, and so many more. And the best part? It smells just.like.real.chocolate. Need I say more? Go to Sephora and give it a whiff! You won't look crazy I promise :)

If you want a swatch of this beautiful palette, feel free to let me know and I'll definitely take your request :) Thank you so much for reading! Until next time,

I don't know about you, but I'm feeling 22 ...

Hi beauties!

It's April 6, 2014 - which means it's my 22nd birthday today!

All I want for my birthday .. is a ....... just kidding, my boyfriend bought me this hat as a joke on HIS birthday LOL so this hat has been identified as an official 'birthday hat' so guess who'll be wearing this hat today ....... that's right. HIS turn. hahaha! payback is something, isn't it ;)

I just want to write this post to say thank you to everyone who has made me who I am at 22 today. Everyone I've met and haven't met have impact me in a way that made me who I am today. I am so excited for what this year has to bring me in my life! I can't wait to experience all the amazing things 22 has to offer!

Thank you for stopping by and taking time to read my blog. I've been so busy wrapping up school work for this year and I promise once I'm free (in just over 10 days) I'll be blogging more frequently! If you've been here before, thank you for coming back to visit me :) If you haven't, welcome to my blog! My name is Film and I am a 22 (today!) years old girl from Thailand who's been in Canada since 2008. Welcome to my space - where I share wonderful things I find and a glimpse into my life :)

Anyway, it is currently 1.09 AM and I've already been flooded with 'happy birthday' wishes from people back home (Thailand's clock is faster so it's already midday there). I am so overwhelmed with happiness but I don't really feel like it's my birthday yet because I feel like it's still Saturday night - even though it's early, early, early Sunday morning. LOL. Okay, I'm going to bed so I can wake up and thennnn, I'll finally fully, truly experience my birthday! Thank you once again :)

Until next time,

Review: Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in MINT JULIP

Hello lovelies! Yesterday I stopped by Sephora because it's been a while and of course, I did not leave empty-handed. I went by the Stila cosmetics area and this vibrant mint eye liner caught my attention. Since mint is one of my favourite colour and I've been searching for something very similar like it for quite a while I decided to go for it and buy it without thinking anything twice. Stila has always had their Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Turquoise which is very similar in colour when I swatched it in store, but I was looking for a pencil version, not liquid as I planned on using them on my lower lash line and my lower waterline (liquid liners aren't very ideal for me).

I bought my first Stila's Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Mint Julip. If I remember correctly, it was $26.

For the amount of produce you're getting, I feel like $26 was just a teeny tiny bit on an expensive side (I mean, for the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil, you are spending $24 for a whole pencil at 0.04 oz - comparing to the Smudge Stick which is $2 more for a 0.01 oz, so you're getting lesser product at a more expensive price). The product comes out by a twist. The colour itself is very vibrant, creamy, soft, smooth, and easy to apply.

Here is a swatch of the product on my hand. It is the perfect mint green colour. Today I wore it on my eyes - I lined along my upper lash line and also on my lower water line. It stayed where I left it this morning and have not transferred on my eye lids or to my lower lash line. I'm really impressed with the Smudge Sticks. I've always been curious to try them. They come in so many different colours from a beautiful yellow colour in Canary which looked so beautiful and promising to Turquoise which is as the name suggests, a turquoise colour - a bit darker than Mint Julip but looked as beautiful.

I highly suggest you go to your local Stila counter and try it out. I might look into getting the classic black and brown as well. I have yet to find my holy grail, go-to pencil eyeliner for everyday that lasts and doesn't run or transfer on my eyes. Because of their intensive colour selection, Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner is now on my radar and I will definitely be going back to pick up a few more to play around with.

Until next time
